The Role

As a Historical Data Conversion Project Manager, you will serve as the essential link between our technical Data Solution Consultants (DSCs) and the client’s business stakeholders. While DSCs focus on the technical execution of data migration and complex analysis, your role is to translate that work into a clear narrative for the client while relaying client requirements back to the internal team. You will leverage a strong understanding of HDC processes, investment data, and technical frameworks to comfortably bridge the gap between technical execution and client expectations. By working side-by-side with the DSCs to identify data remediation strategies, you will translate technical requirements into actionable directives for the client and proactively secure necessary inputs. This role is for a subject matter expert who can navigate technical language and investment complexities to drive project progress and maintain high-impact communication regarding status, gaps, and timelines.

You’ll also be among the first members of the Data Solutions team based in India, helping establish our presence in the region while working closely with colleagues across the U.S., U.K., and other global offices. This is a collaborative role offering the opportunity to shape our operating model locally and strengthen how our global teams deliver together.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with Data Solutions: Serve as the dedicated partner to the internal Data Solutions Consultants, ensuring they have clear specifications and context while managing administrative workflows to allow them to focus on technical execution.
  • Translate Technical Progress: Translate technical progress, data challenges, and migration results provided by the Data Solutions team into digestible business narratives for client stakeholders.
  • Lead Client Status Calls: Lead regular status calls with clients to convey project health, presenting successful data loads and managing expectations around timelines or data discrepancies.
  • Facilitate Information Flow: Facilitate the flow of information between parties, ensuring client requirements are accurately scoped for the technical team and technical constraints are clearly explained to the client.
  • Oversee Portfolio of Projects: Prioritize and context-switch effectively to oversee simultaneous projects, maintaining close alignment with the Data Solutions team on resource availability.
  • Drive Process Improvement: Identify and drive opportunities to improve the communication workflow between the Project Management and Data Solutions functions.

Who You Are

  • Experienced: Minimum 3+ years of experience in project management, finance, or consulting, with a strong record of managing client relationships and communicating complex project updates.
  • Client-Focused: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes and manage "difficult conversations" regarding timelines or scope.
  • Investment-Savvy: Strong understanding of financial products and securities modeling (technical implementation skills not required, but conceptual understanding is key).
  • Solutions-Oriented: Creative problem-solver who operates with ownership and accountability in ambiguous environments.
  • Collaborative: Works effectively across teams and functions to deliver measurable impact, specifically in bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Process-Minded: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and continuously looking for ways to improve efficiency and scale.
  • Adaptable: Thrives in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and global stakeholders.
  • Technical (Bonus): Familiarity with Python or SQL. While you won’t be building the infrastructure, your ability to query data or understand automated workflows will help you scale your impact and communicate more effectively.
