Apptio Analyst

Summit Human Capital is seeking a highly motivated Apptio Analyst to support our client in a fully remote capacity in the public sector. This position has the exciting opportunity to support the administration and operation of the Apttio platform, ensuring IT and cloud cost transparency, financial reporting, and decision support in alignment with government budgeting and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

Requirements:

• 2–5+ years of hands-on experience with Apttio (Cost Transparency, Cloudability, or both)
• Solid understanding of TBM concepts and IT financial management
• Experience working with public-sector, government, or highly regulated environments
• Strong experience with financial data, including budgets, appropriations, cost allocations, and variance analysis
• Proficiency in Excel and financial/data analysis
• Ability to work independently in a remote, client-facing role
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience supporting non-technical stakeholders
• US citizenship required

Desired:

• Apttio certification(s) or formal TBM training
• Experience supporting state, local, or federal government clients
• Familiarity with FinOps practices in public-sector cloud environments

Responsibilities:

• Administer and support the Apttio platform (Cost Transparency and/or Cloudability) for a public-sector client
• Manage and validate financial and operational data inputs, including general ledger, budget data, cost centers, fund sources, vendor cost data, and asset inventories
• Support TBM and FinOps use cases, including IT cost transparency, budget-to-actual analysis, chargeback/showback models, and forecasting
• Develop and maintain standardized and ad-hoc reports for agency leadership, finance, and oversight groups
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual budget cycles, including variance analysis and audit support
• Ensure data accuracy, traceability, and documentation to meet public-sector audit and compliance standards
• Work directly with client stakeholders to translate policy, budget, and operational questions into actionable Apttio insights
• Support continuous improvement of Apttio models, reporting, and data governance

The hourly pay range for this position is $40 – $45, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
