K2United is an organization that houses two distinct, national, customer-facing brands tied together by a shared purpose: setting the standard for an extraordinary workplace. Through our brands, K2Share and CareerSafe, we provide advisory services in cyber risk management and online education for workforce readiness.
Our four core values define how we show up every day:
- Respect Others – We lead with respect, building trust and connection.
- Internally Driven – We are relentlessly compelled to accomplish our objectives.
- Collaborative Innovation – We create by listening, sharing, and working together.
- Client Success – We hold our client’s mission as our own.
We believe in people who are accountable, curious, and motivated to make an impact that matters.
Our programs make a big impact—CareerSafe supports 2 million+ users per year, and K2Share delivers IT support on federal systems. You’ll have the opportunity to shape technology strategy, lead a talented IT team, and make a difference in a mission-driven, small-business environment that values professional growth and work/life balance.
Your Impact
You will help power CareerSafe, serving more than 3 million users annually, while supporting cloud platforms that operate in regulated environments where reliability, security, and audit readiness matter.
This is a hands-on, player-coach role.
You are accountable for the platform, the standards, and how the work gets done.
Success in this role means:
- Leading DevOps and cloud engineering through technical direction, not hierarchy. You set standards, guide implementation, and stay close to the work while helping other engineers grow in capability and ownership.
- Building and evolving CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automation frameworks that make deployments predictable, repeatable, and low-risk.
- Embedding security and compliance into the way systems are built and deployed, not as a separate step, but as part of how the platform operates day to day.
- Engineering and improving cloud infrastructure across AWS, GovCloud, and Azure, ensuring systems are scalable, resilient, and cost-effective.
- Partnering closely with Application Development, Architecture, and Security to ensure platforms support fast, reliable, and secure delivery.
- Strengthening platform reliability and operational discipline, resolving complex issues when they arise and reducing the likelihood they happen again.
- Contributing directly to the work. This role is not about delegating from a distance. It is about building systems, improving them, and helping others do the same.
It is about building systems and practices that allow the team to operate reliably.
This role is collaborative, direct, and accountable. You lead from the front, stay close to the technology, and make both systems and engineers stronger over time.

- Deep experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Proven ability to build and operate CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
- Strong Linux systems experience in cloud environments
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability tools
