Roles & Responsibilities

  • 10+ years of experience in Databricks administration or cloud data platform support
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks
  • Experience with cluster and workspace administration, Unity Catalog, and metastore configuration
  • Familiarity with Delta Lake, Lakehouse architecture, Databricks REST APIs, CLI, Terraform, and Spark performance tuning

Requirements:

  • Manage and monitor the Databricks environment, including cluster lifecycle, ticketing, and responding to spikes in usage
  • Review and optimize architecture and configurations for performance and cost, including CI/CD deployments
  • Administer Databricks platform components such as Unity Catalog, metastore, and Delta Lake within Lakehouse architecture
  • Automate tasks using Databricks REST APIs, CLI, and Terraform; troubleshoot issues and perform performance tuning

Technical Skills
  1. 10+ years of experience in Databricks administration or cloud data platform support.
  2. Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks
  3. Experience with:
    1. Cluster and workspace administration
    2. Unity Catalog, metastore configuration
    3. Delta Lake & Lakehouse architecture
    4. Databricks REST APIs, CLI, Terraform
    5. Spark configurations and performance tuning
  4. Understanding of IAM, networking, and cloud security principles.
Cloud Knowledge
  1. Proficiency in Azure data services.
  2. Strong understanding of cloud storage (ADLS, S3, GCS).
Programming / Scripting
  1. Knowledge of Python, SQL, Bash, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages.
  2. Familiarity with CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
Soft Skills
  1. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  2. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  3. Ability to work in an Agile, fast-paced environment.
