Responsibilities

  • Conduct factory inspections at CSA authorized factories (remote and on-site); select representative product samples to audit and determine if sample complies with applicable standards and certification reports; review quality control and testing documentation.
  • Prepare Factory Inspection Reports (FIR), Initial Factory Evaluation (IFE) reports, and consumer product evaluation reports documenting inspection findings per procedures and work instructions; review previous FIRs to assess whether deviations have been corrected.
  • With supervision, determine satisfactory corrective actions and timeframes; decide if non-compliance warrants stop shipments, re-investigation, or removal of CSA mark and take appropriate action.
  • Maintain contact with clients by following up, providing information, and responding to inquiries; stay current on new CSA services and assist clients with updating their records (address, company name, etc).

Job Summary:

The Field Service Representative maintains the integrity of the CSA registered mark by conducting factory inspections and safeguarding on-going conformity of products bearing the CSA Mark.

These are your tasks:

  • Conduct factory inspections at CSA authorized factories (remote and on-site). Select representative product samples to audit; determine if sample complies with all applicable standards and Certification report; review quality control and testing documentation.
  • Prepare Factory Inspection Reports (FIR), Initial Factory Evaluation (IFE) reports, and consumer product evaluation reports to document inspection findings per procedures and work instructions.
  • Review previous FIR's to determine if previous deviations have been corrected.
  • With supervision, determine satisfactory corrective action and time frame to implement the changes; determine if non-compliance merits stop shipments, re-investigation or removal of CSA mark and takes appropriate action.
  • Maintain contact with clients by following up, providing information, and responding to inquiries.
  • Keep current on new services available and communicates these to clients as necessary and assist clients with making changes to their records (address, company name, etc) with CSA.

What we expect:

  • Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Associates Degree
  • Licensed Electrician with related experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • +2 yearsΒ΄ experience (industry related experience will be an asset)
  • Ability to work remotely and independently (Home office)
  • Strong-effective communication skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills to be able to handle difficult situations
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and test data
  • Computer skills (word processing, e-mail)
  • Usage of calibrated measurement instruments, high voltage test equipment, hand tools
  • Ability to manage multiple inspection files and changing schedules and deadlines with supervision
  • Working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, as well as general laboratory procedures as they relate to performing factory inspections
  • Good communication skills in German and English (oral and written) Knowledge of an additional European language (i.e.: French or Italian) welcome
  • Ability to travel as needed and/or with short notice
  • This position requires unrestricted travel capability within Europe, including the legal prerequisites for short-notice cross-border assignments.
