Our client is an established agency seeking to modernize and elevate its email marketing function across both client accounts and internal business development efforts. With an existing Mailchimp-based infrastructure that is more tactical than strategic, the organization is looking for a senior-level expert to audit, upgrade, and transform its lifecycle marketing capabilities. This role will play a critical part in strengthening deliverability, analytics, attribution, and revenue performance while collaborating cross-functionally across client services, PPC, social, UX/UI, CRM, IT, and leadership.

The Email Marketing Manager will strategically audit, modernize, and lead the entire email marketing function. This is a senior-level role focused on upgrading infrastructure, elevating lifecycle and remarketing programs, improving inbox placement and deliverability, introducing advanced analytics, and driving measurable revenue growth.
Approximately 80% of the role will focus on B2C client lifecycle and remarketing programs, with 20% dedicated to internal agency lead generation and business development initiatives.
Conduct a full audit of existing email infrastructure, workflows, segmentation, automation, analytics, and deliverability
Recommend upgrades to ESP platforms, lifecycle structures, segmentation strategies, and reporting systems
Partner with internal IT and system administrators to implement improvements (technical execution handled by IT)
Lead warm-list lifecycle marketing across B2C clients, particularly education-focused accounts
Develop nurture, remarketing, reactivation, and conversion-focused programs
Improve performance of opt-in lists sourced from PPC, display, and digital campaigns
Drive revenue growth through structured direct-response email strategies
Collaborate with business development to support agency lead generation
Develop internal email campaigns targeting prospects and conference leads
Strengthen the agency’s email acquisition and remarketing efforts
Upgrade existing rudimentary tracking into sophisticated reporting frameworks
Improve visibility into open rates, inbox deliverability, conversion metrics, and revenue attribution
Partner with CRM and IT teams to ensure tracking integrity and ROI visibility
Collaborate with Client Services to develop client email strategies and content calendars
Partner with PPC, social, UX/UI, and IT teams to ensure campaign integration
Translate business objectives into actionable email strategies
Report directly to the agency head
Partner with system administrators on DNS authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
Audit and improve inbox placement
Ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and other applicable regulations
Focus primarily on compliant warm-list marketing
Develop structured email templates and strategic copy direction
Collaborate with internal copywriters and creative leadership for refinement
Elevate creative structure to improve conversion and performance
8+ years of proven email marketing experience
Demonstrated success driving revenue through warm-list lifecycle marketing
Strong background in B2C marketing environments (education experience a plus)
Experience auditing and revamping under-optimized email systems
Experience working cross-functionally without direct team management
Ability to operate across multiple verticals simultaneously
Proficiency with ESP platforms such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, or similar
Strong understanding of CRM collaboration and attribution frameworks
Advanced knowledge of lifecycle marketing, remarketing, and segmentation strategy
Expertise in deliverability optimization and inbox placement
Performance-driven, direct-response mindset
Strong analytical capabilities with focus on revenue attribution and ROI visibility
Ability to translate business objectives into structured email strategies
Current email processes audited and upgraded to industry-leading standards
Advanced warm and cold email frameworks live and driving measurable revenue growth
Deliverability and performance metrics consistently exceeding industry benchmarks by 2–3×
Email recognized internally and by clients as a top revenue-generating channel
Training and best practices implemented across the 40+ person team
