About you and the role:
The modeling function is fundamental for Enstar. Its deliverables influence M&A appetite, investment composition, regulatory and economic capital requirements, and capital structure. Working with the Capital Modeling Manager, your responsibility will be to collect data and populate regulatory and rating agency models on a quarterly and ad-hoc basis for the Group and for global subsidiary entities. The individual will take ownership of validating the integrity of model inputs and outputs and will prepare management reports that drive strategic decisions based on capital model results. You will also work with the broader modelling function to assist with parameterization and development of capital models to be used for both regulatory and risk reporting and Enstar’s wider modelling needs.
What you will be doing:
Key Accountabilities / Deliverables
- Capital Adequacy and Solvency Calculations – Model BSCR regulatory capital adequacy and solvency for the Enstar Group and its reporting subsidiaries on a quarterly basis.
- Coordinate with the modeling group and those preparing regulatory filings.
- Capital Modeling – Develop proficiency in and maintain capital models to meet regulatory, rating agency, and business requirements.
- Business requirements include stakeholders such as Rating Agencies, Regulators, Group Executives, M&A, Finance, Investments, Risk, and Treasury.
- Group Capital Model development – Support calibration, development and maintenance of the Internal Capital model with a focus on reserve risk parameterization
- Provide Support to the Risk Function – Collaborate with the Risk Function on capital modelling related areas that inform risk appetite, solvency self-assessments, and stress and scenario testing.
- Provide Model Support and Rationale Documentation – Provide documentation supporting modelling and key decisions impacting regulated entities and ensure appropriate governance procedures are followed.
- Communicate Model Results – Investigate, explain, and report on model results to senior members of the capital management and modeling team and other internal stakeholders.

What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Mathematics)
- Progress toward relevant professional qualification desirable (3-6 actuarial exams)
- 4-6 years of relevant actuarial/insurance industry experience
- Self-directed individual with initiative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to exercise practical judgment, sensitivity, and creativity
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work as part of a wider team and independently
- Solid knowledge of insurance products, reinsurance, financial instruments, and the capital impacts thereof
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with actuarial software tools such as ResQ and Igloo is desirable
- Knowledge of one or more programming languages, such as Python, and the ability to automate processes is desirable
- Significant quantitative analytical background required
- Sound understanding of regulatory capital requirements, including Solvency II, Bermuda, and US RBC
- Experience within a complex organizational structure covering multiple regulatory jurisdictions is desirable
- Experience with long tail insurance coverages, including asbestos & environmental and workers’ compensation, desirable

General Info
The target base salary pay range for this role is $126,000- $ 151,000. *Target full-time equivalent base salary range is based on relevant market data. The actual salary offered will depend on applicable market data for hiring location and relevant candidate knowledge, skills/experience. This salary range is not inclusive of applicable discretionary incentives.
