Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 4 years of transportation industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations required
  • Commercial Driver's License preferred or related CDL safety best practices

Requirements:

  • Coordinate safety programs with the operational center, assist team members, and process First Reports of Accidents/Injuries; triage incidents and initiate response with customer and corporate safety; ensure data closure in systems
  • Identify root causes of accidents/injuries, implement corrective actions with drivers/customers, and participate in accident prevention discussions; conduct post-accident accountability meetings with drivers
  • Follow up on safety training (Pro-Tread LMS) completion and coordinate scheduling of random and post-accident drug and alcohol tests for drivers
  • Serve as driver safety knowledgebase and front-line safety resource; coordinate customer-facing safety functions (safety meetings, site inspections, driver reviews) and driver orientation

Description

Work directly with a co-located operational center team to execute and coordinate commercial driver safety functions. Assist and guide operational team members in safety topics. Champion safety activities with drivers and staff within the TransForce region assigned. Serve as knowledge base for internal and external customers for safety topics and processes. 


  • Intake and complete First Reports of Accidents and Injuries.  Triage incident and start response with customer and corporate safety as required.
  • Complete accident/injury follow-up with drivers and customers. Enter information directly into systems for closure and approval.
  • Identify root cause for all accidents and injuries, apply corrective measures with drivers/customers. Participate in accident (and injury as required) preventability discussions.
  • Respond to all near miss and safety reports from drivers. Follow up with both drivers and customers on safety issues. Work to identify root cause and correct.
  • Complete post-accident/post-injury accountability meetings with drivers. Ensure driver understanding of root cause, corrective actions, and re-training.
  • Follow-up with drivers on assigned LMS Safety Training (Pro-Tread) completion.
  • Coordinate scheduling of Random and Post-Accident drug and alcohol tests for drivers.
  • Facilitate ordering and promotion of safety supplies for drivers including Boot Program (Shoes for Crews) and other safety giveaways.
  • Coordinate and execute customer facing safety functions (safety meetings, site inspections and visits, driver reviews).
  • Perform safety-based driver orientation for TFI and/or Customer.
  • Serve as driver safety knowledgebase and front-line safety resource.
     
Requirements

Education and Certifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 4 years of transportation industry experience preferred.


Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Microsoft Office Suite Experience
  • Experience utilizing transportation specific software systems preferred. 
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations required
  • Commercial Driver’s License Preferred or previous CDL Transportation Safety Best Practices & Regulations
  • Ethics, Integrity, and Judgement
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills
  • Communication with internal and external customers
  • Planning and analyzing information from multiple sources
  • Accurate and timely decision making.

Salary Description
$70,000-75,000
