Job description
We are a professional staffing firm, working with organizations across the country to place exceptional candidates. Currently, we have a Title Examiner to join a growing team. The Title Examiner will be responsible for researching public records, examining the chain of titles, identifying defects, and preparing accurate title commitments in accordance with Texas underwriting guidelines.
The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of Texas real property law, county recording systems, and title plant research, with the ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
Your specific duties will include:
Examine title to residential, acreage, and/or commercial real property in Texas.
Research county records, title plants, and online databases.
Review deeds, deeds of trust, liens, judgments, tax records, probate filings, and plats.
Analyze the chain of title and identify gaps, defects, encumbrances, and requirements.
Prepare title commitments and supporting documentation.
Communicate title requirements clearly to escrow officers, attorneys, and clients.
Ensure compliance with TDI and underwriter guidelines.
Meet production deadlines while maintaining high accuracy standards.
Required qualifications for the position include:
2+ years of Texas title examining experience.
Strong understanding of Texas real property law and recording practices.
Experience working with title plants and/or county clerk systems.
Ability to read and interpret legal descriptions (metes & bounds, lot & block, etc.).
Knowledge of liens, judgments, probate, divorce, and tax matters affecting title.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
HALfile/TitleData experience needed at this time.
Residential/Acreage and Commercial examinations.
Preferred qualifications for the position include:
Experience with Google Office Suite, Qualia, or similar title software.
Familiarity with underwriting guidelines from major underwriters.
Paralegal or title-adjacent background.
Pay Rate Range: $28.00 to $33.00 per hour
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Employees have access to healthcare benefits, including medical, dental, and vision, as well as a 401(k) plan.
