Roles & Responsibilities

  • 5+ years of experience in technology product development, with a focus on property and casualty (PC) insurance.
  • Deep knowledge of property and casualty insurance processes, including underwriting, rating, quoting, binding, and policy administration.
  • Experience using insurTech policy administration systems; experience with IMS, NetRate, Surefyre, or OneShield strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication and ability to collaborate across teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • Translate business requirements into actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and/or technical specifications for development teams.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for insurance technology-related matters (policy admin systems, portals, raters), demonstrating understanding of underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external development teams to ensure timely delivery of features, enhancements, and bug fixes, balancing scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Conduct thorough initial testing of developed features to validate functionality, compliance, and user experience, providing feedback for iterative improvements.

Job Summary: 
The Technology Product Owner will play a pivotal role in driving the implementation of technology solutions and third-party insurance platforms to support the creation, underwriting, rating, quoting, binding, issuing, and servicing of specialty insurance products at K2 Insurance. This role will require a deep understanding of insurance industry processes, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that increase revenue and operational efficiency for the business divisions.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Translate business requirements into actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and/or technical specifications for development teams.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for insurance technology-related matters (policy admin systems, portals, raters, etc.), demonstrating a strong grasp of insurance industry dynamics, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with (internal & external) development teams to ensure timely delivery of features, enhancements, and bug fixes, while maintaining a balance between scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Work in a variety of Policy Administration Systems supporting the systems that our divisions utilize. 
  • Conduct thorough initial testing of developed features to validate functionality, compliance, and user experience, providing feedback for iterative improvements.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in technology product development, with a focus on P&C insurance.
  • Deep knowledge of property and casualty insurance processes, including underwriting, rating, quoting, binding, and policy administration. 
  • Experience using a variety of insurTech policy administration systems. Experience with IMS, NetRate, Surefyre, or OneShield is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and detailed problem-solving skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality products and experiences. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams and levels of the organization.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Salary Range: $100,000-$140,000 USD/Per year
