Description

The DBA supports Origin and utility-industry clients by designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, high-performance database environments across cloud and hybrid architectures. This role ensures database reliability, scalability, and compliance for Utilities applications and the Origin SmartCity SaaS platform. The DBA collaborates cross-functionally to align database operations with business requirements and service-level objectives.

Essential Job Functions

  • Implement backup/recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability configurations (RAC, Data Guard).
  • Monitor and tune performance across environments to maximize uptime and reliability.
  • Provide recommendations in SQL query performance tuning, especially for slow-running queries and reports. Implement DBA-side solutions and ensure they are properly cataloged and preserved for reuse.
