Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage and optimize our mission-critical database environments across on-premises and cloud platforms. This role is essential for ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of our data systems. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Oracle 12c and 19c, DB2, and cloud-based databases such as Cosmos DB, with a strong focus on performance tuning, automation, and seamless migration strategies. You will play a key role in maintaining database integrity, driving operational efficiency, and supporting cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.\

Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain Oracle 12c and 19c databases, including performance tuning and SQL optimization
Manage DB2 databases with a focus on stability, security, and scalability
Design and implement cloud database solutions using Cosmos DB or equivalent platforms
Perform on-premises to cloud database migrations with minimal downtime
Optimize database performance through effective management of tablespaces, schemas, and storage
Utilize shell scripting (bash/ksh) to automate routine DBA tasks and reporting
Monitor database health, adjust parameters, and ensure fast query response times
Implement and manage Oracle Multitenant architecture (CDB/PDB)
Apply Oracle PSU and patch updates to maintain system security and compliance
Conduct routine DBA operations, including database reorganization, index rebuilds, statistics gathering, and cleanup
Develop and maintain database documentation, standards, and metadata
Respond to and resolve production incidents, including emergency shutdowns and offline operations
Design and enhance database utilities and automated reporting tools
Requirements
8-13 years of professional experience in database administration
5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle 12c and 19c administration
Proven expertise in DB2 database management and maintenance
Experience with cloud databases such as Cosmos DB or similar platforms
Strong proficiency in managing tablespaces, schemas, and storage allocation
Demonstrated skill in SQL query optimization and Oracle performance tuning
In-depth understanding of Oracle Multitenant architecture (CDB/PDB)
Proficient in shell scripting (bash/ksh) for automation and task execution
Experience leading or participating in on-prem to cloud database migration projects
Ability to document database standards, processes, and metadata effectively
Experience managing production incidents, including DB shutdown and recovery operations
Track record of applying Oracle PSU and patch updates in production environments
Strong collaboration skills with technical, application, and operations teams
Familiarity with database utility development and automated reporting enhancements
