Roles & Responsibilities

  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience using Cabinet Vision.
  • Strong experience in S2M documentation, production modelling, and CNC outputs/machining preparation.
  • Solid understanding of cabinet construction methods and hardware systems.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings accurately; familiarity with Australian cabinetry standards.

Requirements:

  • Produce detailed cabinetry drawings in Cabinet Vision from architectural plans, tender documentation, specifications, and variations, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D views.
  • Convert approved S2M drawings into production-ready Cabinet Vision models and generate CNC-ready files, cut lists, assembly documents, and hardware lists.
  • Perform internal quality checks, maintain file naming/version control, and ensure project documentation is updated and stored in the appropriate systems.
  • Collaborate with estimating, drafting, factory foreperson, and project managers; communicate design queries and site conflicts clearly.

Job description

This is a remote position.

Key Responsibilities

S2M Drafting (Screen to Machine)

  • Interpret architectural plans, tender documentation, specifications, and variations.

  • Produce detailed cabinetry drawings using Cabinet Vision.

  • Prepare drawing packages including floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D views when required.

  • Ensure drawings comply with builder specifications, Australian Standards, and company construction methods.

  • Check important design details such as clearances, appliance integration, service allowances (plumbing, electrical, gas), and material thicknesses.

  • Issue drawings for internal review and update them based on feedback before submission.

Production Set Out

  • Convert approved S2M drawings into production-ready Cabinet Vision models.

  • Apply correct materials, hardware specifications, construction methods, and machining rules.

  • Generate production documentation such as cut lists, CNC-ready files, assembly documents, and hardware lists.

  • Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing efficiency and material usage.

  • Identify potential design conflicts or buildability issues before releasing to production.

Quality Control & Documentation

  • Conduct internal quality checks before issuing drawings or production files.

  • Maintain proper file naming, version control, and documentation standards.

  • Ensure all project documentation is updated and stored in the appropriate systems.

Communication & Coordination

  • Collaborate with the estimating team, drafting team, factory foreperson, and project managers.

  • Communicate design queries, site conflicts, and missing information clearly.

  • Participate in coordination meetings and respond to internal queries as needed.

Performance Expectations

  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in issued drawings.

  • Complete S2M drawings within agreed turnaround times.

  • Minimize production variations caused by drafting errors.

  • Ensure all CNC files and production documentation meet internal manufacturing standards.



Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience using Cabinet Vision.

  • Strong experience in:

    • S2M documentation

    • Production modelling

    • CNC outputs and machining preparation

  • Solid understanding of cabinet construction methods and hardware systems.

  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings accurately.

  • Familiarity with Australian cabinetry standards, residential construction practices, and commercial joinery detailing.

Core Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings.

  • Excellent spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills.

  • Process-driven with the ability to follow structured drafting workflows.

  • Strong written English communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Highly organized and deadline-driven with strong accountability.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience drafting for Australian residential builders.

  • Exposure to multi-unit residential or commercial joinery projects.

  • Experience collaborating with offshore production or drafting teams.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is an advantage.

Software Proficiency

  • Cabinet Vision (Advanced User Level) – required

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)

  • Project management platforms such as Buildertrend

  • Cloud file management systems such as SharePoint

Working Structure

  • Follows Queensland (Australia) public holidays in addition to local holidays.

  • Works within the company’s documented drafting and file management systems.
