Founded by former Meta product and engineering leaders, we work with brands like OLIPOP, Hatch, K18, and Little Spoon. We reached product–market fit last year and are on a rapid growth trajectory — the business has grown 10x over the past year, and we’re scaling the team to keep up with demand.

We’re looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer who can help architect and scale the core systems that power Nectar’s platform.

What You’ll Do

Architect and scale core systems
Design and build the systems that ingest and process large volumes of social data from platforms like Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, and LinkedIn. You'll help architect pipelines that run AI agents on this data in real time and power the analytics and insights our customers rely on.

Drive technical strategy and architecture
Lead major technical decisions across the platform. Write design docs, evaluate infrastructure and tooling choices, and establish scalable patterns as our systems and engineering team grow.

Build systems that scale 10–100x
Improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency across our data and AI pipelines as we onboard more customers and dramatically increase data volume.

Raise the engineering bar
Mentor engineers, review system designs and code, and help establish engineering culture, best practices, and operational standards.

Operate with full ownership
Senior staff engineers at Nectar operate with broad scope and autonomy. You'll work closely with product and engineering leadership to solve complex problems and ship systems that directly impact customers.

Our Tech Stack

TypeScript, AWS, Pulumi, Postgres, ClickHouse, and Turbopuffer.

We also use AI tools thoughtfully to improve developer productivity, including Cursor, Claude Code, Graphite, v0/Replit, and Granola.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience building and operating production software systems
  

• Startup experience strongly preferred
  

• Experience designing and scaling distributed systems, data infrastructure, or complex production systems
  

• Proven ability to architect systems and drive technical decisions
  

• Track record of technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and influencing engineering direction
  

• Comfort operating in fast-moving startup environments with high ownership
  

• Strong product intuition and ability to collaborate closely with product and design
  

• Interest in AI-native engineering workflows and how AI is changing how software gets built
