Job Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Records Specialist to join a prominent Personal Injury Law Firm based in Beverly Hills. In this crucial role, you will manage and procure medical records essential to personal injury cases, ensuring accurate and timely access to healthcare documentation. The role demands someone who can navigate the complexities of medical records, maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations, and ensuring all records are organized for easy access and retrieval. Your efforts will directly contribute to the firm’s success in handling complex litigation effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Organize and maintain medical records to ensure easy retrieval, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to strict legal standards pertinent to personal injury cases.
  2. Review records for completeness and accuracy, ensuring they meet U.S. healthcare and legal regulations.
  3. Efficiently enter and update patient information in EHR systems, handling both digital and physical files.
  4. Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals and legal teams to collect, clarify, and review medical data critical for client cases.
  5. Ensure timely access to comprehensive patient records for all healthcare providers and legal stakeholders.
  6. Uphold stringent confidentiality and compliance with U.S. legal requirements in medical record handling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related medical field.
  • Proven experience as a Medical Records Specialist, Health Information Technician, or similar role within U.S. law firm environments, particularly those dealing with personal injury law.
  • Mandatory proficiency in Filevine software, a standard tool used extensively by our law firm clients.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare processes, with specific expertise in personal injury law.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical software.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with a firm commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and data security.
