Job description

The role:

This role will support the volunteering team to develop and expand volunteering opportunities in Yorkshire, primarily in the student population. You will liaise with services to find potential volunteer vacancies and educate staff about the value of volunteering. You will also engage with people interested in volunteering to ensure that everybody is offered a chance to volunteer with us. This role requires proficiency in information technology and confidence in using Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Outlook, Word).

This role is a great opportunity for students to develop their people skills, and provides experience those interested in working in recruitment and outreach.

Tasks may include:

  • Managing a database of people interested in volunteering and distributing vacancies based on individuals’ experience, interests and areas of study.
  • Engaging with external organisations to spread the word of volunteering.
  • Researching and/or reaching out to external organisations regarding volunteer recruitment events.
  • Visiting services to share the value and rewards of recruiting volunteers.
  • Planning and/or attending events at universities, colleges or other external organisations.
  • Support in running volunteer training online or in person.
