Roles & Responsibilities

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in financial accounting and reporting, including at least five years in a senior or equivalent role.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, local accounting standards, and tax regulations; proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero) and Excel.
Fluency in German and English with excellent analytical, communication, and multitasking abilities.

Requirements:

Lead the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with Austrian GAAP / IFRS.
Lead month-end and year-end financial reporting processes, including journal entry adjustments, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Coordinate local tax obligations (including withholding tax, VAT, and CIT) and liaise with external tax advisers; manage tax compliance and timely filing of tax returns.
Assist with the MiCA licence application and develop/implement financial workflows and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

Lead the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (e.g. Austrian GAAP / IFRS).
Lead month-end and year-end financial reporting processes, including journal entry adjustments, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Coordinate local tax obligations (including but not limited to customer-level withholding tax, company-level withholding tax, VAT, and CIT) and liaise with external tax advisers.
Manage tax compliance and reporting, ensuring the timely and accurate filing of tax returns.
Develop and implement financial workflows and procedures.
Implement strategies to minimise errors in financial reporting and optimise resource allocation.
Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives.
Assist with the MiCA licence application.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in financial accounting and reporting, with at least five years in a senior or equivalent role.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, local accounting standards, and tax regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Xero) and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in spoken and written German and English.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail and accuracy.

As a plus:

Strong interest in the crypto-asset and blockchain space.
Experience interacting with Austrian regulators, including the Financial Market Authority (FMA) and the Austrian Financial Intelligence Unit (AT-FIU), is highly desirable.
Successful completion of Fit & Proper Tests with EEA regulators (preferably with the FMA).
Immediate availability is preferred.
