Title: Salesforce Release Manager
Location: Remote
Target Start Date: asap
Type: Direct Hire
Who We Are:
We see the world through Salesforce glasses. We love Salesforce — it's our craft — and we geek out
over clean deployments, well-structured orgs, elegant automation, and scalable architecture.
Our practice was created by Salesforce thought leaders specifically for Mid-Market sized companies. As
a certified Salesforce Partner, we are a true end-to-end partner for businesses looking to maximize their
Salesforce investment through custom integrations, optimization, AI enablement, advisory services, and
managed services.
We don't just build features, we build sustainable, scalable Salesforce environments.
What We're Looking For:
We are seeking a Salesforce Release Manager who brings both structured release governance and
hands-on Salesforce development expertise.
This role sits at the intersection of DevOps, architecture, and delivery. You will own release planning,
environment strategy, and deployment governance across multiple Salesforce engagements — while
also being capable of jumping into code, troubleshooting issues, reviewing Apex/LWC, and guiding
technical teams.
You are process-driven, detail-obsessed, and technically fluent. You understand that clean deployments
aren't luck — they're discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
Release & Environment Management
● Own release planning and deployment schedules across multiple Salesforce projects.
● Define and manage environment strategy (Dev, QA, UAT, Staging, Production).
● Oversee CI/CD pipelines, version control strategy (GearSet), and deployment tooling.
● Coordinate cross-team release readiness, including developers, QA, PMs, and client
stakeholders.
● Implement governance standards for branching strategy, code promotion, and rollback
planning.
● Maintain release calendars and proactively manage deployment risk.
Salesforce Development & Technical Oversight
● Develop and review Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and integrations.
● Conduct code reviews to enforce best practices and performance standards.
● Troubleshoot deployment failures and environment conflicts.
● Support large data deployments, metadata migrations, and org merges where applicable
Quality & Risk Management
● Define and enforce testing standards across unit testing, integration testing, and regression
testing.
● Ensure proper test coverage and code quality thresholds.
● Proactively identify release risks and implement mitigation strategies.
● Establish documentation standards for release notes and change logs.
● Maintain audit-friendly documentation of changes and deployment approvals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
● Partner with Solution Architects and Lead Developers to align technical strategy with release
execution.
● Collaborate with Project Managers to align release milestones with delivery timelines.
● Serve as the escalation point for release-related technical blockers.
● Support pre-sales conversations around DevOps maturity and environment strategy where
needed.
Process & Continuous Improvement
● Standardize release processes across projects and clients.
● Recommend and implement DevOps tooling improvements.
● Stay current on Salesforce seasonal releases and platform changes that impact deployments.
● Contribute to internal best practices for scalable Salesforce DevOps.
Qualifications:
● 5–8+ years of Salesforce development experience.
● 2+ years of experience managing Salesforce releases or DevOps processes.
● Strong expertise in:
○ Apex & LWC development
○ Salesforce Flows & automation
○ Metadata deployments
○ Version control (Git-based workflows)
○ CI/CD tools (Gearset, Copado, AutoRABIT, or similar)
● Deep understanding of Salesforce environments, sandboxes, and packaging.
● Experience supporting multi-cloud Salesforce environments.
● Strong troubleshooting skills across complex deployments.
● Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and release schedules.
● Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical release details to delivery and client
teams.
● Salesforce Platform Developer I required; Platform Developer II preferred.
● DevOps-related certifications or equivalent experience preferred.
