STChealth is a company focused on vaccine intelligence and immunization data management — it connects public and private healthcare sources to deliver real-time immunization information.

As a Senior Software Developer, this professional will play a pivotal role in leading the design and development of software applications and components. They will leverage their expertise to create scalable and robust solutions, mentor junior developers, and drive best practices across the development team. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the success of our business.

Primary Functions:

•             Develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications.

•             Design and optimize database queries and stored procedures in relational data bases (JDBC/DAO/SQL/Oracle).

•             Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

•             Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues.

•             Ensure application performance, scalability, and security.

•             Maintain code quality and organization through best practices.

•             Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning and code reviews.

•             Develop and maintain automated tests, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end

Job Qualifications:

The qualifications we are looking for are mixture of work experience and educational background.

They are split into Minimum Qualifications (must have) and Additional Qualifications (nice to have) along with soft skills (competencies) needed for the role:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience working as a Software Developer
• 5+ years of experience working as Java developer Java (J2ee specific is required) including Servlets, Struts, JSP, JDBC, Spring. 
• 4+ years of experience working with Agile methodologies and Test-driven Development 
• 3+ years of experience with relational databases and data access (JDBC/DAO/SQL), Oracle strongly preferred 
• 1+ years of experience working with AI coding assistance (Claude, Copilot, etc.)
• 1+ years of Experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, XML-RPC, etc.) 

Additional Qualifications:

• HL7 Experience
• Healthcare experience in US

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication.
• Self-starter with ability to work well independently and in groups
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
