Roles & Responsibilities

EDI knowledge with hands-on IBM Sterling Integrator experience (map development: X12, EDIFACT, XML, cXML, CSV, flat files)
Mainframe development skills: COBOL, CICS, VSAM, JCL, with DB2 experience and knowledge of SCLM/IN-Synch for source control
Strong DB2 skills: SQL and ability to write queries to interact with DB2
Experience with testing and deployment processes: unit, system, regression, and integration testing; promotion of code to production

Requirements:

Design, code, test, and debug EDI mainframe solutions using COBOL, CICS, VSAM, DB2, and JCL
Execute various forms of testing (unit, system, regression, integration) and write DB2 queries
Promote code to production and manage implementation planning using tools like SCLM or IN-Synch
Troubleshoot job abends, implement minor enhancements, and collaborate with the team; work with IBM Sterling Integrator and related EDI processes

Job description

EDI Mainframe developer – 100% Remote
Duration – 12 months contract
Start Date - ASAP
Rate – DOE

Job Description

EDI Mainframe Developer with the following skill set:
COBOL + DB2 development experience is preferred

Application development experience in Design, coding, testing and debugging with mainframe skills such as CICS, VSAM, COBOL, DB2, JCL, SCLM .

EDI knowledge is a must
Should be able to write queries to interact with DB2.
Execute various forms of testing – unit, system, regression, integration.
Should have knowledge on promoting code to production using any of the tools, good to have SCLM and IN-SYNCH.
Manages all aspects of implementation planning & coordination
Ability to provide and implement technical solutions to a wide range of problems.
Experience in fixing job abends and working on minor enhancements.
Develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for the design, build, and implement the minor enhancements.
Should be willing to learn new technologies and collaborate with the team.
Hands on experience on IBM Sterling Integrator version 5.2.6 preferred
Knowledge and experience in developing, maintaining, supporting, and monitoring of EDI IBM Sterling integrator preferred
Good Knowledge and hands on experience in business process development preferred
Extensive exposure on map development (X12, EDIFACT, XML, cXML, CSV, Flat files) preferred
Good experience with various file formats like ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML, cXML, CSV, Flat files preferred
Proficiency in DB2+SQL, XML, XSLT, Web services, APIs, FTP/SFTP, Java and JavaScript preferred
