Translate, localize and transcreate IT and Marketing content from English into German, preserving brand voice and messaging
Perform linguistic review and QA; manage terminology consistency via TMs, glossaries and style guides; provide linguistic guidance to the German team
Coordinate activities within the German team and, when required, support on-site work at client offices
Deliver quality outcomes under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-time-zone environment

Job description

This is a remote position.

LocalEyes Group is a leading provider of Localization Services to the international computer and software sectors, with headquarters in Ireland and subsidiaries in Europe.

LocalEyes is recruiting a German transcreator and linguist to become a stable member of our dedicated linguistic Teams.

The Role:

For this role, you will be working as part of a dynamic team and in an international environment.

Specific responsibilities include marketing and IT translations and/or trancrestions, linguistic review and QA, checking of terminology consistency through the management of TMs, glossaries and style guides to guarantee the quality of deliverables plus linguistic guidance and coordination across the German Team.

As a member of our German linguistic team, you’ll also have the chance to work on-site at the offices of our clients, bringing your talent and contributing to brands who make the difference.

You will translate, localise and transcreate IT and Marketing content from English into German.

Our ideal candidate is/has:

Native in target language with a degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation or similar
Team-player with proven editorial and/or journalistic skills and up-to-date with language and terminology trends
Vast experience in transcreating, proofreading, copywriting, journalism, and social media of consumer communications for major IT accounts or global, high-end luxury retail brands
Culturally savvy with a deep knowledge of the local culture and is aware of language trends
Quality-driven and detail oriented with an understanding how to deliver quality creative copy and its impact
Excellent written and spoken English to truly understand the meaning and translate as if it were originally written in target language
Well familiar with US American culture and pop culture in order to recognize the author's play on words or visual references, and able to adequately transcreate into target language
Obsessed by the detail and has a passion for languages
Available to travel abroad for several days/weeks in a row three to four times per year and as the business calls
Flexible work ethic and willing to working beyond a conventional 9:00-17:30 framework. Some weekend working is required, with ability to work across different time zones
Understanding of dynamics between client and vendor
Understanding and attitude to work within a confidential environment
Able to work in a fast paced, demanding creative and production environment with a multiple changes in project priorities and tight deadlines
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Based in-country or has tight connections with Germany to prove cultural awareness and language are fresh and up-to-date
Additional: Knowledge of CAT tools, PEMT, Mac and iPhone technologies a distinct advantage
