Senior Backend Engineer

This is a remote position.

Our team of world-leading scientists and engineers have developed an NLP platform that extracts context from customer conversations. This powers a range of transformative product features, including an AI-powered advice assistant, Consumer Duty management, automated compliance monitoring, the identification of vulnerable customers, enhanced consumer insights, and performance management of call centre agents and advisers.

Purpose of the role:

To aid our continued growth, we are looking for a back end focused software engineer to work in our growing Development Team. You will have significant involvement in the continual evolution of our products, working collaboratively with the team to improve and develop our technology. Championing our collaborative environment, you will work closely with the other Software Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Managers and Designers in implementing robust and scalable applications and developing truly disruptive products that are changing the way the world communicates.

Requirements

We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic person with a strong academic background, who is keen to shape an exciting project with huge commercial potential. The successful candidate will be a core part of the Development Team helping build our Aveni Detect platform across advised services.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• At least 2 years front and back-end development experience using TypeScript, Node.js, React or JavaScript
  
• Strong knowledge of AWS
  
• Strong interest in learning and adopting the latest development techniques
  
• Interest in AI, NLP and Machine learning
  
• Experience following Agile working practices
  
• Educated to degree level in Computer Science or similar
  
• Desire to learn new skills, working as part of a dynamic and ambitious start-up team
