Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years specializing in IoT development.
  • Deep understanding of IoT platforms and protocols (MQTT, CoAP, HTTP) and hands-on experience with cloud IoT platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT) plus embedded systems (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi) and sensors/actuators.
  • Extensive experience designing advanced technical assessments and conducting technical interviews, with strong mentoring and feedback skills.

  • Collaborate with HR and development teams to understand complex role requirements, desired skills, and team dynamics, tailoring assessments accordingly.
  • Mentor and train junior technical assessors/interviewers, facilitate in-depth technical workshops, and provide detailed, actionable feedback and recommendations to the hiring team to inform hiring decisions, while ensuring an exceptional candidate experience.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Assessor/Interviewer specializing in Internet of Things (IoT) Development to join our team. This advanced role involves evaluating technical candidates for various senior-level IoT development positions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of technical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and cultural fit. The ideal candidate will possess a deep expertise in IoT technologies, development methodologies, tools, and practices, along with a strong ability to mentor and guide the technical assessment process.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct comprehensive technical interviews and assessments for senior-level IoT development positions, ensuring a thorough evaluation of candidates technical skills, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Develop and continuously update advanced assessment criteria and interview questions to reflect the latest IoT development trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with the HR and development teams to understand complex role requirements, desired skills, and team dynamics, tailoring assessments accordingly.
  • Provide detailed, actionable feedback and recommendations to the hiring team, playing a key role in informing hiring decisions.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in IoT technologies, tools, and practices, ensuring that assessments remain current and relevant.
  • Facilitate in-depth technical workshops or discussions to evaluate candidates’ hands-on skills in a collaborative environment.
  • Mentor and train junior technical assessors/interviewers, providing guidance on best practices and interview techniques.
  • Ensure an exceptional candidate experience throughout the technical assessment process.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development roles, with at least 5 years specializing in IoT development.
  • Deep understanding of IoT platforms and protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, and HTTP.
  • Proficiency with IoT development platforms such as AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT.
  • Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi).
  • Familiarity with sensors, actuators, and IoT communication technologies (e.g., BLE, Zigbee, Z-Wave, LoRa).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate complex technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to provide constructive feedback and mentor others.
  • Extensive experience designing advanced technical assessments and conducting technical interviews.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest IoT development trends and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced certifications in IoT technologies or related fields.
  • Significant experience in a technical hiring or technical assessment role.
  • Leadership or managerial experience in an IoT development team, with a proven track record of mentoring and guiding team members.
  • Experience contributing to open-source IoT projects or communities.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks for IoT applications.
  • Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for IoT systems.
