Chief Business Officer (CBO) - Neuroscience

This is a remote position.

We are seeking an experienced Chief Business Officer (CBO) to build and lead the global commercial function of an established highly specialized neuroscience start-up entering a significant growth phase

Reporting to the CEO and working closely with scientific leadership, the CBO will define and execute the commercial strategy, drive sustainable revenue growth, and position the organization as a leading neuroscience-focused CRO partner to biotech and pharmaceutical clients worldwide. 

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Growth

• Develop and implement a multi-year commercial and go-to-market strategy
  
• Identify priority client segments, therapeutic focus areas, and geographic markets
  
• Build a strong, diversified global pipeline
  

Business Development & Partnerships

• Secure MSAs, preferred provider agreements, and multi-project contracts
  
• Lead complex negotiations and implement disciplined pricing frameworks
  
• Drive key account management to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships
  

Commercial Infrastructure & Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performing commercial team
  
• Implement CRM systems, forecasting tools, and structured reporting processes
  
• Standardize proposal and contracting workflows to improve conversion rates
  

Scientific–Commercial Alignment

• Translate advanced preclinical neuroscience capabilities into compelling client value propositions
  
• Align market demand with internal scientific expertise
  

Requirements

• Senior commercial leadership experience within Pharma, Biotech or CRO environments
  
• Demonstrated success securing high-value, complex life sciences contracts
  
• Strong strategic execution and forecasting capability
  
• Credibility with both R&D leaders and executive stakeholders
  
• Experience operating in international, growth-stage settings
