Requirements:

Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and architectures using AWS services to integrate data from multiple sources
Migrate applications from on-premises to public cloud providers and implement Infrastructure as Code across environments
Assess benefits vs risks of technologies and ensure security/compliance (HIPAA, PCI, FERPA) in cloud solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively, and participate in project management activities as needed

Job description

Title; AWS Cloud Data Engineer
Location: 100% Remote
Type: Contract

Experience
Experience with AWS services such as Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Aurora, Amazon EMR, Amazon Glue, Amazon Athena, and Amazon Sage Maker
Data engineering expertise from multiple data sources
Public cloud experience with a provider such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
IT application experience that includes at least 2 years of hands-on software development, DevOps engineering, systems administration, or systems architecture.
Understanding of infrastructure and security requirements, such as HIPAA, PCI, FERPA, etc.
Understanding of emerging technology and end-user needs.
Knowledge of architecture patterns, frameworks, and standards.
Ability to script and develop Infrastructure as Code in multiple environments.
Direct experience migrating applications from the enterprise to public cloud providers (e.g. Amazon, Google, or Microsoft).
Experience with project management preferred.
Public cloud certification such as GCP Cloud Engineer or Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect a plus.

Ability to assess the benefit versus risk of implementing technologies.
Ability to think creatively, strategically, and act tactically.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Ability to promote and maintain a favorable work environment for oneself and others to assist in the overall mission of the medical college and hospital.
