Job description

Director, Software Development – 100% Remote
Position type – Full time
Salary plus Benefits

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain efficient and reliable PHP code for backend systems.
Create and optimize database schemas to support application requirements.
Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements using server-side logic.
Implement RESTful APIs for seamless integration with external services and applications.
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing PHP code to ensure performance and scalability.
Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in backend development.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
Write clear, well-documented code and participate in code reviews to maintain code quality standards.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment and maintenance of backend services.
Experience with Microservices architecture.
Experience with containerization/GKE tools
Working knowledge with cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS
Understanding of security best practices in web development.

Requirements

Proven experience as a PHP Developer with expertise in backend development.
Strong understanding of PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony.
Proficient in API development and integration using RESTful principles.
Experience with database design and optimization, including MySQL or similar.
Solid understanding of version control systems, preferably Git.
Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for effective collaboration.
Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code for performance and scalability.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
