Job description

Position Overview:

Original X Productions (OGX) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in our accounting team, ensuring accuracy and completeness in financial reporting, and supporting the financial health and growth of the company.

*This role is a remote role but most be located in the New York Tri-State area*

Key Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable, reconcile to the general ledger, and communicate to vendors as needed.
Reconcile bank accounts on a weekly basis.
Prepare and maintain monthly general ledger entries, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all reconciling items are valid and accounted properly.
Work closely with the Manager of Accounting on variance analysis to identify and explain differences between actuals and forecasts, providing actionable insights.
Assist in various ad hoc projects as needed to support the finance team and company goals, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach.
Manage the filing and remitting of end-of-year 1099 forms, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software (SAGE) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

The salary range for this role considers a range of variables used in making compensation decisions and may include but is not limited to; experience, training, licenses, certifications, skills sets, business needs, travel. Compensation decisions are dependent on the unique variables that are present, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000 to $90,000. This range has not been adjusted based on the geographic location of the successful incumbent.
