Job Summary:
An established and growing financial services organization is seeking a Network Architect to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing support of its enterprise network environment. in this role you will be the technical authority for the company's network, helping design, implement, and support secure, scalable connectivity across cloud platforms, offices, and remote employees. You will play a key role in supporting a cloud-first strategy, working closely with cloud, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to ensure everything runs smoothly, securely, and reliably.
In this role, this is a highly visible role where you will directly influence the future of the company's network architecture.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise networking, infrastructure engineering, or network architecture roles
- Proven success designing and supporting complex enterprise networks in multi-location environments
- Strong hands-on expertise with networking technologies including SD-WAN, firewalls, VPN solutions, routing, and switching
- Experience designing and supporting cloud networking solutions, particularly within Microsoft Azure
- Background supporting hybrid or remote workforce connectivity
- Experience with Microsoft ecosystem tools such as Azure, Microsoft 365, and Intune is highly valued
- Familiarity with network security practices and regulatory compliance environments
- Experience supporting infrastructure integrations, acquisitions, or large-scale network transformations is a plus
- Industry certifications such as Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Azure Networking are beneficial
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Ability to travel occasionally (up to approximately 20%) as needed
Responsibilities will vary across:
Designing& Building the Network:
- Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, wireless, and Azure cloud connectivity
- Architect and manage enterprise firewall and network security solutions, with strong emphasis on Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer)
- Develop and maintain architecture standards covering routing, switching, firewall policies, and network segmentation
- Support connectivity across cloud environments, offices, and remote users
Keeping the network running smoothly:
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability, availability, and overall system health
- Design and maintain redundancy, failover, and disaster recovery capabilities to ensure business continuity
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex network-related incidents and troubleshooting
- Establish and promote best practices around configuration management, system upgrades, and lifecycle planning
Helping secure the environment:
- Support secure network architecture including firewall configuration, segmentation, and remote access
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure network security and compliance
- Maintain and improve secure connectivity using enterprise firewall platforms such as Fortinet
Supporting company growth & integrations:
- Lead network planning and execution efforts related to company expansions, acquisitions, and system integrations
- Develop repeatable processes and playbooks to support network integrations and separations efficiently
- Ensure network infrastructure can scale effectively as the organization continues to grow
Working with Vendors & Internal Teams:
- Work with network service providers, telecom vendors, and external partners
- Evaluate vendor performance and support service delivery improvements
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and support teams to ensure reliable network services
