GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Field Engineer II ensures that all projects run smoothly, from inspecting and installing equipment and new technologies to directing crews on-site. They also conduct their own research on their projects and report on the project status.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor project & operational activities at the assigned site to ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Inspect network and site equipment and technologies for a project.
- Resolve onsite networking & equipment malfunctions.
- Assist in the preparation of new sites for projects.
- Communicate with clients to determine needs and explain complex issues.
- Conduct networking & RF research and studies on-site.
- Manage field activities and implement engineering designs.
- Diagnose construction or machinery problems.
- Oversee networking & site repairs and technical improvements as assigned.
- Install and configure networking & RF equipment as assigned
- Inspect material and test machinery for safety.
- Ensure proper maintenance of on-site equipment.
- Coordinate with other employees to maintain company equipment.
- Follow all safety requirements.
- Supervise and direct on-site crew (e.g., technicians) as required.
- Draft and submit reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Work with Engineering/Services teams to generate proposals.
- Must be able to drive a vehicle, have a clean driving record, and have a valid driver’s license.
- High travel demand to various locations to perform job duties.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
- Relevant software certifications.
- Four or more years of experience in an RF or Networking related field required.

- Understanding of Windows and Linux based operating systems with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Suite.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move equipment/material that weighs up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
