Roles & Responsibilities

  • Extensive experience with Epic Care Everywhere and healthcare interoperability initiatives.

  • Knowledge of federal interoperability regulations (e.g., information blocking, TEFCA readiness) and data privacy; excellent verbal and written English communication.

Requirements:

  • Lead configuration and optimization of Epic Care Everywhere and expand external connectivity to community providers, HIEs, payers, and partner organizations.
  • Design and optimize interoperability workflows and data-sharing settings; support reconciliation of external clinical data (medications, allergies, problems, immunizations) and collaborate with Ambulatory, Inpatient, and Revenue Cycle teams.
  • Phase 2 expansion: onboard newly acquired or affiliated entities; evaluate current-state interoperability performance and implement improvements; assist in scaling connections and participate in governance discussions around data sharing policies.
  • Technical integration, testing, and compliance: support HL7, CCD/C-CDA, and FHIR-based integrations; partner with interface teams on build, validation, and troubleshooting; monitor and resolve Care Everywhere connection errors and data discrepancies; ensure regulatory alignment and assist go-live planning and post-go-live stabilization.

CTG is seeking an experienced Epic Care Everywhere & Interoperability Analyst.

 

Location: Remote
Duration: 12 months

 

We are seeking an experienced Epic Care Everywhere & Interoperability Analyst to support an Epic expansion initiative. This role will focus on optimizing and expanding external data exchange, interoperability workflows, and health information exchange (HIE) integrations.

 

The analyst will serve as the primary resource for design, configuration, testing, and optimization of Epic Care Everywhere, ensuring seamless exchange of clinical data across internal and external organizations. This role plays a critical part in enhancing care coordination, regulatory compliance, and provider experience during the second phase of deployment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Interoperability Design & Optimization

  • Lead configuration and optimization of Epic Care Everywhere functionality.
  • Expand external connectivity to community providers, HIEs, payers, and partner organizations.
  • Support workflow design for reconciliation of external clinical data (medications, allergies, problems, immunizations).
  • Configure and optimize data-sharing settings, document exchange, and record matching rules.
  • Collaborate with application teams (Ambulatory, Inpatient, Revenue Cycle) to ensure interoperability integration across workflows.

Phase 2 Expansion Support

  • Support onboarding of newly acquired or affiliated entities.
  • Evaluate current-state interoperability performance and implement improvements.
  • Assist in scaling existing connections as part of system growth.
  • Participate in governance discussions around data sharing policies.

Technical Integration

  • Support HL7, CCD/C-CDA, FHIR-based integrations where applicable.
  • Partner with interface and integration teams on build, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor and resolve Care Everywhere connection errors and data discrepancies.
  • Support API and interoperability initiatives aligned with regulatory requirements (e.g., information blocking, TEFCA readiness).

Testing & Validation

  • Develop and execute test scripts for external exchange workflows.
  • Validate inbound/outbound document quality and structured data reconciliation.
  • Support integrated testing across applications during Phase 2 activation.
  • Assist with go-live planning and post-go-live stabilization.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure alignment with federal interoperability regulations and organizational privacy policies.
  • Maintain documentation of data-sharing agreements and technical specifications.
  • Monitor metrics related to external exchange volume, reconciliation rates, and data quality.

 

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $130,000 to $145,000 annually. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
