Job Description – SAP SD Solution Architect (8–10 Years)
Role Summary
The SAP SD Solution Architect will design, govern, and deliver scalable
Order-to-Cash solutions with a strong focus on custom development,
extensibility, and enhancement-driven programs across SAP ECC and S/4HANA. The
role blends deep SD functional knowledge with hands-on experience in RICEFW,
integration patterns, and clean-core–aligned customizations.
This role is suited for programs where SD is not
“configured once and forgotten,” but continuously evolved through new features,
CRs, and productized enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Own
solution architecture for SAP SD across development-heavy implementation
and enhancement programs
- Translate
business requirements into technical-functional designs, balancing
standard SAP with custom-built solutions
- Design
and govern SD-related developments, including:
- Custom
pricing logic, user exits, BADIs, and enhancements
- Complex
order processing scenarios
- Output
determination (BRF+, SmartForms / Adobe)
- Lead
functional specification design and work closely with ABAP teams on:
- RICEFW
objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms,
Workflows)
- CDS
views and OData services for SD data exposure
- Fiori
apps and custom UI extensions
- Define
S/4HANA extensibility strategy for SD:
- In-app
vs side-by-side extensions
- Clean
Core–aligned custom developments
- Use
of BTP / CPI where applicable
- Drive
integration design with:
- FI
(revenue recognition, billing accounting)
- MM,
TM, EWM, third-party systems (3PL, tax engines, CRM)
- Review
code impact from a functional standpoint and participate in design and
peer reviews
- Lead
SIT/UAT cycles for development objects, including defect triage and
performance tuning
- Support
ongoing enhancements, CR estimation, and backlog prioritization in Agile
delivery models
Required Skills & Experience
- 8–10
years of SAP SD experience with strong exposure to development-heavy
projects
- Hands-on
experience working with ABAP teams on enhancements and custom builds
- Strong
understanding of:
- SD
exits, BADIs, pricing routines
- Interface
patterns (IDoc, OData, REST, CPI)
- Experience
in S/4HANA SD transformations with custom extensions
- Prior
experience in Big-4 or Tier-1 SI development programs
- Ability
to act as functional architect for SD developments, not just configurator
Good to Have
- Experience
with Fiori Elements, CDS-based analytics for SD
- Exposure
to SAP BRIM / Vistex or complex pricing engines
- Agile / product-oriented delivery experience
