Job description

Are you a literature expert eager to shape the future of AI? Large-scale language models are evolving from simple conversational tools into systems capable of analyzing texts, interpreting themes, and supporting literary scholarship. With high-quality training data, tomorrow’s AI can help democratize access to literary analysis, support education, and deepen understanding of world literature. That training data begins with you—we need your expertise to help power the next generation of AI.

We’re looking for literature specialists and avid readers with strong familiarity in areas such as classical literature, modern and contemporary fiction, poetry, drama, literary theory, comparative literature, and critical analysis. You’ll challenge advanced language models on topics such as thematic interpretation, narrative structure, authorial style, symbolism, historical context, genre conventions, and close reading—documenting failure modes so we can strengthen model reasoning and interpretive accuracy.

On a typical day, you will engage the model with literary passages, analytical questions, and interpretation tasks; verify factual accuracy and coherence; evaluate the depth and validity of literary analysis; capture reproducible error traces; and provide structured feedback to improve prompts, evaluation criteria, and reasoning quality.

A degree in literature, English, comparative literature, or a related humanities field is preferred but not required. Teaching experience, academic research, editorial work, or extensive reading and writing experience are all valuable indicators of fit. Clear, metacognitive communication—explicitly articulating reasoning and interpretive steps (“showing your work”)—is essential.

Ready to turn your literature expertise into the knowledge foundation for tomorrow’s AI? Apply today and help train systems that support readers, students, and scholars around the world.

We offer a pay range of $6 to $65 per hour, with the exact rate determined after evaluating your experience, expertise, and geographic location. Final offer amounts may vary from the pay range listed above. As a contractor you’ll supply a secure computer and high-speed internet; company-sponsored benefits such as health insurance and PTO do not apply.
