  • Manage the analytics team: assign work, review outputs, coach, monitor performance, and facilitate cross-functional communication
  • Collaborate with IT/IS to acquire data feeds, resolve data integrity or performance issues, maintain system documentation, and participate in requirements and design specifications

Job description

Sr Marketing Analyst Lead

Provide leadership, strategy, and direction for marketing database projects of major importance or complexity, or for multiple intermediate/small projects or maintenance activities. Formulate the strategy, scope and objectives, demonstrating detailed knowledge of the business. Devise or modify database tables, views or house holding scripts to solve complex problems. Prepare detailed specifications. Responsible for leading all phases of marketing database system projects and maintenance projects including system analysis, programming and testing.

Maintain knowledge of database technologies and technical concepts and effectively apply that knowledge to database system and maintenance projects. Understand the Marketing and IT structures and responsibilities as well as other areas/units that impact database projects or maintenance. Be an expert in the database development process, project planning and monitoring. Demonstrate detailed understanding of project estimating, project scheduling (including critical path management), resource management, and change management concepts and apply that knowledge and experience to database system projects and maintenance.

Provide leadership and assist the Database Manager in the design, development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Marketing Database. Build and implement quality control processes that ensure a high level of data integrity for the data input into the database. Manage the interface between the database and the end users who will be accessing it for both the ongoing targeting of promotions and the analysis of members.

Develops strategy and implements statistical modeling and propensity to purchase models to improve the results of the business. These models integrate into marketing strategy and plans as well as into our MRM (CRM) solution to allow employees to offer the right product to the right member at the right time.

Job Duties

  • Develops strategy and assists in the design, development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the marketing database. Work with I.S. to secure new data feeds and enhance existing feeds. Code and maintain SQL, SAS and Teradata scripts as needed. Work with I.S. and the Database Systems Specialist to ensure the database builds are completed correctly and on time. Responsible for working with I.S. to resolved any data integrity, system maintenance or performance issues. Participate in requirements definition studies, development of workflows of current and proposed system operations, collection and organization of pertinent system documentation, and development of system documentation. Participate in the development of system internal and external design specifications.

  • Develops strategy for statistical models, builds and implements models to create efficiencies with the business by reducing cost to acquire. Models also feed back end CRM/MRM platforms

  • Assign work to analysis team members. Ensure that team members perform their assigned project tasks. Review for content, accuracy and ability to address business needs. Solve problems and remove obstacles for team members performing their assigned tasks. Facilitate effective communication among team members, operating areas/units and various levels of Marketing & IT management.

  • Write and execute ad-hoc queries using programming skills in order to produce marketing analysis based on management specifications. Utilize query language (SQL, SAS) to complete member record selection from the Marketing Database in order to fulfill complex report, cube or extract requests. Participate in the development of improved and innovative ways to utilize current system software, application system development and programming productivity aids, debugging and test tools.

  • Ensure that data integrity and reporting standards are followed, and make suggestions for modifications to those standards as applicable.

  • Facilitate the development of team and individual staff goals, monitor performance, coach toward achieving goals, and evaluate individual performance of goal achievement. Provide Training and coaching of staff for development.

  • Assist manager in completing special projects as assigned.

  • Investigate and recommend new methods, procedures, tools, and technologies. Participate with other IT professionals to evaluate new technologies in the market and recommend cohesive direction for the IT organization.

  • Daily problem solving and decision making related to the marketing database or database analysis as well as model development Troubleshoot and resolve data integrity problems, problems with tables, data feeds and any related data issues. Work with I.S. team, MDB Project Leads, MDB Technical Leads and Senior Database Analysts to resolve problems with analysis and reports.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors Marketing Preferred

  • 7-9 years Database marketing, I.S. or related field. Required

  • Expert knowledge of SQL, Teradata. Strong knowledge of applied statistics.

  • Proven ability in managing concurrent projects with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to express complex technical concepts in terms less technical people can understand.

  • Good analytical and problem solving skiils

  • Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.

  • Good teamwork, interpersonal, and mentoring skills; ability to manage and build a team; need to work well within a team environment.

The starting pay range for this position is:

$120,500.00 - $160,800.00

Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
