Responsibilities:
The Research Subject Review Board (RSRB) acts as the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for the University. The director of the RSRB provides executive leadership and strategic direction for the University’s human subjects protections program, and holds responsibility for the development, implementation, and oversight of all RSRB policies, procedures, and guidance for any research involving human subjects in any field, including biomedical, social, behavioral, and educational, conducted by any University personnel, whether faculty, staff, student, or otherwise. The director leads and sustains an effective and responsive compliance program by promoting high-quality services, advancing education and outreach, and delivering practical solutions to the University research community. The director manages RSRB staff and committees, oversees and facilitates protocol reviews, and serves as a key institutional resource and advisor to investigators, leadership, and other stakeholders on matters related to human subjects research, regulatory requirements, and best practices.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
