The International Hotel School Distance (online) Campus is looking for a Hospitality Management Lecturer to join our academic team.
The purpose of the role is to facilitate, offer student support and share your passion for the hospitality industry with students. The application of sound assessment principles and meeting higher education standards.
Key Responsibilities:
● Meet the institutional required pass rate and through put standard
● Marking assessments and provide feedback to students
● Responsible for student “at risk” tracking, counselling and support
● Partake in curriculum development and improvement reviews
● Meet the required Industry time and research outputs
● Ensure the Student satisfaction survey institutional standard is met
● Conduct administrative tasks related to the modules facilitated
● Involvement in professional activities and research into industry trends
● Facilitating Online Discussions and forums
● Staying up to date with online facilitation practices
Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
● A Masters (NQF Level 9) or Honors (NQF 8) hospitality qualification essential
● Initial bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) Qualification needs to be in Hospitality
● A Minimum of 5 years relevant, Industry experience
● A minimum of 2 years lecturing / teaching experience within higher education
● Online facilitation experience beneficial
● Proficient in Learning Management Systems and MS Office computer software
● Curriculum and assessment knowledge
● Strong admin ability
