Kathak Teacher - Remote Job

This is a remote position.

• Conduct Kathak classes for students of various ages and skill levels (beginner to advanced).
  
• Develop lesson plans tailored to the needs and progress of individual students or groups.
  
• Teach the theoretical aspects of Kathak, including its history, technical terminologies, and storytelling techniques.
  

• Choreograph and prepare students for performances, competitions, and examinations.
  
• Organize recitals, events, and stage productions to showcase students’ learning.
  

• Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to students.
  
• Foster an environment of discipline, creativity, and appreciation for classical dance.
  

• Maintain attendance records and track student progress.
  
• Collaborate with other faculty members to plan and organize cultural events and workshops.
  
• Ensure adherence to the institute’s policies and standards.
  

• Promote Kathak through workshops, demonstrations, and community events.
  
• Encourage enrollment by showcasing the value of Indian classical dance.
  

Requirements

• A degree or diploma in Kathak dance from a recognized institution (e.g., Bachelor of Performing Arts, Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, or equivalent).
  
• Additional certifications in dance or training under renowned gurus will be an advantage.
  

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience teaching Kathak to various age groups.
  
• Proven track record of choreographing and organizing successful performances.
  

• Expertise in the nuances of Kathak, including tala, laya, abhinaya, and storytelling.
  
• Ability to teach both practical and theoretical aspects of Kathak.
  

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Patience, creativity, and the ability to inspire students.
  
• Organizational skills to manage classes and performances effectively.
  

• Flexibility to work evenings or weekends, depending on class schedules.
  
• Passion for preserving and promoting Indian classical dance traditions.
  

• Experience performing professionally as a Kathak dancer.
  
• Familiarity with other Indian classical or folk dance forms.
  
• Basic knowledge of music, particularly Indian classical music.
