Job description

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Kathak Teacher to join our performing arts institute. The ideal candidate will be skilled in classical Indian dance with a deep understanding of Kathak's technical, cultural, and historical aspects. The Kathak Teacher will be responsible for conducting engaging classes, choreographing performances, and inspiring students to appreciate and excel in this traditional art form.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching:
  • Conduct Kathak classes for students of various ages and skill levels (beginner to advanced).
  • Develop lesson plans tailored to the needs and progress of individual students or groups.
  • Teach the theoretical aspects of Kathak, including its history, technical terminologies, and storytelling techniques.
Choreography and Performance:
  • Choreograph and prepare students for performances, competitions, and examinations.
  • Organize recitals, events, and stage productions to showcase students’ learning.
Student Development:
  • Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to students.
  • Foster an environment of discipline, creativity, and appreciation for classical dance.
Administration:
  • Maintain attendance records and track student progress.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to plan and organize cultural events and workshops.
  • Ensure adherence to the institute’s policies and standards.
Outreach:
  • Promote Kathak through workshops, demonstrations, and community events.
  • Encourage enrollment by showcasing the value of Indian classical dance.


Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of music, particularly Indian classical music.
