Job description

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented SpellBee Teacher to help students enhance their spelling skills, vocabulary, and command over the English language. The ideal candidate will have strong linguistic abilities, a structured teaching approach, and the capability to make learning spellings both fun and effective.

As a SpellBee Teacher, you will guide students through spelling rules, etymology, pronunciation, and memory techniques, while preparing them for national and international spelling competitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Engaging SpellBee Lessons – Teach spelling techniques, word origins, and patterns in an interactive and understandable manner.

  • Build Vocabulary and Language Skills – Help students strengthen vocabulary, pronunciation, and word usage in context.

  • Design Lesson Plans – Create structured learning materials and practice sessions tailored to different levels of learners.

  • Track Student Progress – Assess student understanding, provide feedback, and support ongoing improvement.

  • Prepare for Competitions – Train students for school-level, national, and international SpellBee contests.

  • Use Interactive Tools – Integrate games, quizzes, and multimedia resources to make learning engaging and fun.

  • Adapt to Learner Needs – Customize lessons based on student age, proficiency level, and learning style.

  • Utilize Online Platforms – Conduct smooth and professional sessions via virtual teaching tools.


Requirements

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in English, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.

  • Teaching certifications (optional but an added advantage).

Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent command of English spelling, grammar, and pronunciation.

  • Prior experience in teaching English or mentoring students is desirable.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex concepts.

  • Passion for teaching and helping learners grow.

Technical Requirements:

  • Stable internet connection and a quiet, professional setup for online sessions.

  • Proficiency in using video conferencing platforms such as Zoom or Google Meet.

  • Familiarity with tools like PPTs, digital flashcards, and quiz software is a plus.
