Job description

This is a remote position.

Sales Director
£75,000 to £100,000 plus bonus structure scheme and company benefits

A start-up/scale-up dedicated to building new technologies that connect donors with wonderful causes.

Since 2016, we’ve dedicated ourselves to solving the negative impact a cashless society is having on the charity sector. Together, we’re shaping the future of fundraising.

You’re not just helping my client succeed - you’re helping charities all over the UK access the funds they need to keep doing great work. You’ll be part of a supportive, close-knit team of people, all working towards the same goal and all willing to help one another out. We don’t believe in hierarchies or office politics - that’s why, you’ll have the flexibility to work in a way that suits you.

How can you help our cause?
We’re growing fast. And this year, we’re planning to take our company global with a whole range of new products and services. We’ve got big ambitions, and we need an experienced Sales Director to help steer the ship, providing key business expertise and know-how to complement our existing management team.

Who are we looking for?
This is a key role and an opportunity to take on the challenge of transforming a rapidly growing, UK-based start-up into a large, international business. That’s why we need someone with solid experience in a similar role, ideally with a track record in a heavily regulated industry - saas experience would be a huge bonus. You’ll need strong commercial acumen, the confidence to challenge our way of thinking and make improvements, the ability to delegate, mentor and offer feedback to your team and the business.
We are looking for a high-performing Sales Director. The successful candidate will meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives.

Sales director responsibilities include developing key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans. Successful execution of these strategies is required to achieve your financial targets. Sales director duties will include hitting annual targets, building relationships and understanding customer trends.

Core role values:

  • People leadership and strong communication skills - you will be a strong leader, coach and manager, with a proven track record in attracting, recruiting, managing and developing outstanding talent.
  • Customer-centricity and data-driven approach - you will have a passion for understanding and exceeding the expectations of customers, and use data to make the right decisions. KPI and metrics-driven; aligns business needs, customer insights and product strategy.
  • Culture, mission and values fit - you will embody the company culture and be passionate about helping it achieve its vision. You will be humble, self-starting, positive, high-energy, collaborative, and action oriented.

Requirements

  • Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets within assigned territory and accounts
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
  • Understand category-specific landscapes and trends
  • Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts
  • Proven sales executive experience, meeting or exceeding targets
  • Previous experience as a sales executive, sales manager or sales and marketing director
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Proven ability to drive the sales funnel
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services
  • Proven ability to position products against competitors
  • Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
