Roles & Responsibilities

  • Extensive experience with ETL tooling, particularly Talend, for data integration and data quality
  • Strong Snowflake experience and database skills (Oracle, RDS, Redshift, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Data modelling expertise (Data Warehouse, Data Marts) and familiarity with job scheduling tools (e.g., TWS, Job Scheduler)
  • Programming and scripting skills (PL/SQL, SQL, Unix, Java, Python) and exposure to big data tools (Hive, HDFS, Impala)

Requirements:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Talend-based ETL pipelines with data quality checks on Snowflake and other databases
  • Model and optimize Data Warehouse/Data Mart schemas; collaborate with analytics/BI teams
  • Manage job scheduling and workflow automation using tools like TWS/Job Scheduler; monitor and troubleshoot data jobs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, document data pipelines, and apply CI/CD practices; leverage cloud platforms as needed

ETL Data Engineer - Talend, Snowflake

My client is seeking an experienced data engineer with experience in using Talend for ETL processes and also for Data Quality.

This role is 100% remote and sits Outside of IR35

Must have technologies

  • Experience in an ETL toolset (Talend, Pentaho, SAS DI, Informatica etc)
  • Snowflake
  • Experience in a Database (Oracle, RDS, Redshift, MySQL, Hadoop, Postgres, etc)
  • Experience in data modelling (Data Warehouse, Marts)
  • Job Scheduling toolset (Job Scheduler, TWS, etc)
  • Programming and scripting languages (PL/SQL, SQL, Unix, Java, Python, Hive, HiveQL, HDFS, Impala, etc)

Good to have

  • Data virtualisation tools (Denodo)
    Reporting (Pentaho BA, Power BI, Business Objects)
    Data Analytics toolset (SAS Viya)
    Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
    ALM Tooling (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
    CI/CD toolsets (Gitlab, Jenkins, Ansible)
