Roles & Responsibilities

Strong knowledge of automated testing (Selenium with C#) and manual testing.
Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems (minimum 2 years) and Linux virtualization/Kernel understanding.
Experience with Red Hat and SUSE Linux testing, and Linux/Windows engineering and systems administration.
Familiarity with Agile Scrum, at least one test automation tool, scripting languages, and strong diagnostic/problem-solving/communication skills.

Requirements:

Perform automation and manual test execution, including regression and defect testing.
Install, troubleshoot, and validate software builds in Linux environments.
Develop and maintain test scripts and plans using Selenium (C#) and other tools; manage Jira test cases.
Log defects, track fixes, reproduce issues, and report status to the test lead.

Job description

SDET with Selenium / C# and Linux
Location – Houston, TX – (remote)
Duration – 6 months
Rate: DOE

US Citizen, Green Card, TN, GC EAD and H4 EAD only No Third-party agencies corp to corp.

Required:
· Strong knowledge and skillset on both automated (Selenium with C#) and manual testing.
· Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems 2 years
· Thorough knowledge of Linux virtualization test and Linux Kernel
· Good expertise in Red Hat and SLES Linux testing
· Strong passion for QA and a deep understanding of Linux development
· Deep knowledge of Linux and Windows Engineering and Systems Administration
· Strong knowledge of networking technologies and topologies
· Familiar with Agile Scrum development methodology.
· Hands-on knowledge on minimum of one test automation tool.
· Knowledge of one or more scripting languages.
· Ability to translate requirements into a solid test cases.
· Strong diagnostic skills to track, troubleshoot, and identify issues.
· Ability to take direction and work well with others.
· Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· 5+ years of experience with testing medium to large projects.
· Off hours availability with remote teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Automation and Manual test execution.
· Installing and troubleshooting S/W builds in Linux Environment
· Automation testing (development of testing code from scratch) using Visual Studio's Coded UI module, Selenium or Telerik API testing for both web and windows applications.
· Maintain the test repository in Jira stories for manual test cases.
· Must have knowledge of manual test strategies and Automation Frameworks and Implementation of Frameworks
· Maintain existing test scripts and test cases and develop new ones based on new requirements.
· Perform regression and defect testing activity in manual and automation mode.
· Defect logging.
· Quality Assurance regression testing, ticket testing of bug fixes with collateral damage validation, interface and integration testing, environmental testing on multiple platforms.
· Status reporting to test lead.
· Develops test scripts and plans according to specifications from higher level staff.
· Reports, tracks and verifies fixes for detected problems with software.
· Will work with technical staff to isolate and reproduce problems with software.
· May assist in review of user manuals.
· Know and understand Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
· Understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies.
· Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
· Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
· Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
· Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope/delivery dates.
