Job description

Job Title:IT Security Engineer (100% Remote)
Position Type: Contract
Location: Framingham, MA
Primary Skills: Firewall Engineering

Key Responsibilities:

Design, install, and support Genetec access control and CCTV systems
Configure and program security hardware (cameras, locks, alarms, sensors, etc.)
Deploy and manage virtual machines (VMware, Hyper-V, cloud)
Troubleshoot security systems and ensure everything works correctly
Set up networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, etc.)
Communicate with teams and clients to understand needs and provide custom solutions
Stay up to date with the latest security technologies and trends
Maintain technical documentation and system designs
Provide technical support and user training
Participate in testing, knowledge sharing, and project meetings

Must-Have Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in tech/IT or equivalent experience
8+ years working with:
- Genetec access control and video management systems
- Axis and Hanwha cameras
- Installing software like Genetec, Salient, Omnicast, Synergis
Strong knowledge of networking and server infrastructure
Hands-on experience with intrusion detection systems (DMP, Bosch preferred)
Genetec certifications
Familiar with security system compliance and best practices
Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Comfortable with both Agile and Waterfall project methods
