Job description

Job Title: General Accountant
Location: Remote (Philippines)

Position Overview:
The General Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the company’s general ledger, handling reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the Philippines with at least 5 years of experience in GL accounting and proficiency in Xero.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain the general ledger (GL), ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions.
Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations and closing processes.
Prepare financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other reports as required.
Ensure timely and accurate posting of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, vendor accounts, and other general ledger accounts.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
Ensure compliance with local and international financial reporting standards.
Handle audits and ensure the company’s financial records are compliant with audit requirements.
Work closely with external auditors, tax authorities, and other third parties as needed.
Provide financial insights and support to the management team to aid decision-making.
Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
Maintain and manage the accounting software (Xero) and ensure seamless integration with other business tools.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification in the Philippines.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in General Ledger (GL) accounting.
Proven experience with Xero accounting software.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Strong communication skills to interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
Experience in a business intelligence or data-driven company is a plus.
