Project Engineer – DIG MFG-SVSDE
Job Duration: 12 months Job Address: Atlanta, GA Work Location Type: Remote Position
The Project Engineer will be responsible for executing technical tasks related to upgrading GEV software products. The role requires hands-on experience with Proficy applications, strong networking knowledge, testing capabilities, and excellent communication skills for customer-facing interactions. The candidate should be able to perform installations, troubleshoot issues, and support various upgrade and deployment activities.
Key Responsibilities
Perform technical tasks associated with GEV software upgrades, ensuring smooth implementation and minimal downtime.
Work with Proficy Historian and Proficy Ops Hub (latest versions), including installation, uninstallation, configuration, and validation.
Develop and execute batch scripts or related automation tasks as needed for deployments.
Participate in customer-facing discussions, capturing requirements and providing technical clarifications.
Write, review, and execute test cases for software validation; maintain test documentation and track defect resolution.
Create issue lists, troubleshoot technical problems, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely problem resolution.
Support system-level testing, upgrade validation, and environment readiness activities.
Provide technical expertise in networking, including domain structures, Windows security configurations, LDAP/SSO setups, and integration troubleshooting.
Work closely with cross-functional engineering and support teams to ensure successful software rollouts.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Ability to install, upgrade, and uninstall Proficy applications in customer environments.
Strong understanding of networking concepts, including:

Strong problem-solving and issue-tracking abilities.
Programming or scripting knowledge (batch scripting or similar automation skills).
Excellent communication skills with prior customer-facing experience.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with industrial automation or manufacturing digital solutions.
Familiarity with GEV ecosystem tools and deployment methodologies.
