CAD Engineer (DV - 11052024 - PTCE)

Position: CAD Engineer
Number of hours: __ hours/week
Schedule: BST

Tasks required:

• Provide input for project documentation including sketches, preliminary proposals, project budgets, schedules, and project plans

• Create detailed AutoCAD designs for solar energy systems, including site layouts, electrical SLD (single-line diagrams)

• Assist the engineering lead in reviewing designs, ensuring all technical specifications and project requirements are met

• Reach out to electrical, civil, and structural engineers to obtain bids and technical support for ongoing projects.

• Work closely with internal teams (engineering, procurement, project management) to ensure design accuracy and project alignment.

• Prepare and manage project documentation, including design changes and revisions, while maintaining version control.

• Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and customer specifications.

• Generate and revise detailed 2D plans and elevations, and 3D perspective views

• Coordinate with inspectors and inspectors to validate the designs and make sure projects comply with local building codes

• Research and follow industry changes, evolutions and best practises

• Utilize computer applications in the design process

• Other ad hoc tasks that would be assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or associate degree in engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.

• Proven working experience in solar design or related fields.

• Proficient in AutoCAD, KeyShot rendering plugin, Illustrator or other design programs

• Knowledge of electrical and structural engineering principles.

• Working knowledge of graphic design and adobe creative suite is required

• Excellent portfolio of previous works

• Creative talent, imagination and eye for design

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially in regard to communicating an artistic vision

• Ability to multitask and perform under tight deadlines

• Exhibit strong work ethic and initiative

• Clear and concise communicator with effective verbal and written communication skills

• Self-disciplined and organized; able to consistently hit daily and monthly targets with limited supervision
