Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and creative Makeup and Wardrobe Specialist to join our production team. This role involves overseeing and executing the makeup and wardrobe requirements for various projects, ensuring that all visual aspects align with the creative vision of the production. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for style and detail, and experience in both makeup artistry and wardrobe management.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement makeup and hair styles for actors and on-screen talent to suit the production’s stylistic requirements.
- Manage wardrobe selection, fitting, and continuity for all characters.
- Collaborate with directors, photographers, and other creative staff to understand and execute the desired look.
- Maintain and manage makeup and wardrobe inventories.
- Ensure all makeup and wardrobe items meet hygiene and safety standards.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in makeup and fashion.
- Handle makeup and wardrobe adjustments on set during shoots.
- Supervise assistants and other staff involved in makeup and wardrobe departments.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a makeup artist and wardrobe stylist, preferably in film, television, or theater.
- A portfolio showcasing previous work in makeup and wardrobe design.
- Strong understanding of makeup products, tools, and techniques.
- Familiarity with costume design, sewing, and alterations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changes quickly.
- Creative thinking with attention to detail.
- Degree or certification in Makeup Artistry, Fashion Design, or related field is a plus.
