ROLE: SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER

SALARY: £60000 to £70000

LOCATION: NORTHAMPTONSHIRE, ESSEX, GLOUCESTERSHIRE, WORCESTERSHIRE, OXFORDSHIRE, THAMES VALLEY, BEDFORDSHIRE, LONDON

Our client is recruiting for Senior Design Engineers to join their growing design team in the UK.

As a Senior Design Engineer you will be part of the Transmission Design Team who are responsible for all permanent and temporary works design support on contracts for NG, SSE, SPEN and the full range of UK DNOs.

As the Senior Design Engineer your responsibilities will include:

Manage day to day overhead line design activities and to produce effective high quality design solutions. Develop design processes, policy and training material.
To perform the role of Contractor Design Assurance Engineer (CDAE) on National Grid projects.
Liaise regularly with other engineers and technicians to maximise productivity.
To provide day to day technical advice and oversight of Design Engineers.
To liaise closely with the Design Delivery Manager, other Senior Design Engineers and internal/external customers ensuring project, programme and budgetary controls at all times.
To be an excellent team player and to go the extra mile when required.

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

Expert user of PLS CADD and PLS TOWER
B.Eng or BSc in Civil or Structural Engineering, with honours, or HND plus relevant design experience in Transmission & Distribution sector.
Holds or actively working towards professional chartered status.
