SwingDev is part of a fast-growing insurtech company from Silicon Valley, listed on NYSE – Hippo Insurance. Our technology-first approach is modernizing the otherwise stale home insurance industry, from IOT monitoring devices to our industry-leading software 🚀
Even though we've become a part of something bigger, joining SwingDev you'll feel the startup vibe created by people who simply like each other and have each other's back. We believe the culture of trust and integrity keeps us together, and it led us to where we are today - feeling happy with our work and interacting with people we call friends.
SwingDev—a hippo company is the Polish branch of a fastgrowing InsurTech product company – Hippo Insurance. We’re here to make home insurance smarter and more proactive, using tech to bring fresh solutions. We also create digital products that support our customers, always focusing on what really makes an impact.
Putting a lot of effort into hiring toptier devs, designers, PMs, and QAs, is a proof that we care a lot about tech experience, the attitude, human approach, and what we could call „culture fit”.
„SwingDev is all about people” yes, it may sound a bit cliche. But whether were writing code or just hanging out, we know that people are at the heart of everything we do. We like to have a good time and keep things light, even when were tackling big projects. We could brag about what’s making us special, but we’ve boiled it down to two key ingredients: mature, companionable people who, rather than compete, prefer to inspire and have each other’s backs; a culture of trust, empathy, and positivity that keeps us together, lets us interact as teammates and friends, and truly enjoy the ride.
As a Mid Backend Developer, you’ll help build and modernize our insurance platform. You’ll own endtoend development of critical components – from integrating with insurance providers to designing APIs used across teams. Beyond coding, you’ll collaborate closely with others, discuss requirements, and propose solutions. We’re looking for someone ambitious, eager to grow, and ready to learn – strong Node.js skills are a plus, but the right mindset for growth matters for us most.
What will you do?
You will work together with senior engineers and architects to design, build, and support APIs and backend services for our Insurance Platform.
You will work closely with Product Managers to understand business processes, rules, and requirements, and turn them into highquality code with automated tests, and deploy them to production.
You will monitor the health and performance of deployed services – proactively detect issues and make sure system is reliable.
You will investigate and resolve production issues by analyzing code, data, and system behavior and then propose and implement timely fixes to minimize user impact.
You will create clear technical design documentation
You will show solutions to the engineering teams, talk about the pros and cons, and help everyone agree on the main architecture decisions.
