Job Role: Ecommerce Specialist
Compensation range: $1,500 AUD $1,800 AUD Monthly
Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

The client is a Brisbanebased supplier of highquality landscaping products and materials, catering to both DIY enthusiasts and professional landscapers. They offer a wide range of items including retaining walls, fencing, garden supplies, paving, turf, and tools. With a strong focus on durability, aesthetics, and sustainability, they work closely with manufacturers to provide ecofriendly and innovative solutions. Known for their exceptional customer service and industry expertise, they aim to build longterm relationships based on trust and product reliability.
Role Overview:
We’re seeking a proactive, detaildriven, and autonomous Ecommerce Specialist to partner with our Marketing and Ecommerce Manager in managing and optimising our (AusLS) Shopify Plus online store. You’ll oversee the performance and growth of the website, owning projects from start to finish and ensuring the site is accurate, engaging, and highperforming. This role requires a selfstarter with proven ecommerce expertise, capable of working independently, identifying opportunities, and delivering improvements without constant direction.
Key Responsibilities:
● Shopify Management: Handle all aspects of online store operations, including
product uploads, pricing updates, metafields, content changes, theme updates, and
troubleshoot store issues (product updates, checkout flow, theme tweaks, app
conflicts, metafields, order tags, automations).
● Coordinate the production of SEO optimised product descriptions with our
Copywriter.
● Oversee monthly price specials, product launches, and seasonal campaigns.
● Optimise product imagery, videos, and marketing assets for presentation and
performance.
● Implement promotions, discount codes, bundles, crosssells, and upsells.
● Track daily sales; produce monthly performance reports with key metrics (conversion
rate, CTR, bounce rate, top sellers, traffic sources).
● Build and optimise backend workflows using Flow (tags, fulfilment rules, tracking,
triggers)
● Regularly audit the customer journey and site for bugs, broken links, and UX issues;
liaise with developers for fixes. Be our goto fixer for any ecommerce tech problems,
no ticket too small or complex.
● Maintain and configure shipping platforms (Starshipit, Intuvitie, Big Post) and manage
carrier rules, routing, and returns workflows.
● Manage Shopify app integrations (Klaviyo, Checkout Blocks) and troubleshoot
issues.
● Build and refine backend automations, workflows, and fulfilment rules using Flow.
● Use analytics tools (GA4, Shopify, Ahrefs) to monitor performance trends and
recommend UX, merchandising, and conversion optimisations.
● Document processes and create SOPs, system maps for ongoing use.
● Stay on top of ecommerce trends, platforms, and digital innovations with monthly
updates to present to the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
● 3+ years of Shopify experience, with strong skills in store management,
customisation, and optimisation.
● High attention to detail in product data accuracy and presentation.
● Experience with basic image editing (e.g., Canva, Photoshop).
● Strong organisational, problemsolving, and project management skills.
● Proficient in Google SheetsExcel for reporting and analysis.
● Experience with Starshipit shipping logic, rules, and returns.
● Working knowledge of Flow, Klaviyo, Checkout Blocks, and Starshipit ecommerce
apps.
● Proven ability to own backend operations from setup to scalability.
● Commercial mindset and datadriven approach to digital performance.
Nice to Have:
● HTMLCSS or Liquid knowledge for light theme edits.
● Experience with GA4, Shopify analytics, and ecommerce KPIs.
● Familiarity with CRO tools and techniques.
● Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana).
