Position Overview:


The Operational Accounting and Cash Management Manager is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations and managing the company’s cash flow to ensure financial stability and operational efficiency. This role will be responsible for general ledger maintenance, monthly close activities, reconciliations, payroll, AP/AR processing, and treasury functions, while driving process improvements and ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.. Katapult is looking for an agile self-starter who can help take the finance department to a new level.  This role will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer and will manage one direct report.  


Primary Job Duties:


Operational Accounting:


Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and expense reporting.

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain and enforce strong internal controls and compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and responding to audit inquiries.

Cash Management:

  • Monitor daily cash position and manage short-term liquidity needs.
  • Forecast and analyze cash flow trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage banking relationships, including account setup, fees, services, and compliance.
  • Oversee cash disbursements, wires, and ACH transactions to ensure proper authorization and documentation.
  • Implement and maintain cash management tools and reporting systems.

Leadership & Process Improvement:

  • Supervise and develop direct report; provide coaching, feedback, and career development support.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency in accounting and treasury operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., FP&A, tax, operations) to align accounting practices with business strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and relevant regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting and cash management experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  • Hands on experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Tableau, Airbase,Workiva, etc.) 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Team is currently virtual/start up type environment; must be self-starter
