Safety Associate (OECS)

At OECS, our Safety Associates work closely with construction sites and industrial facilities across North America, providing technical and regulatory support for health, safety

(OSHA), and environmental compliance.
We’re looking for a relationship builder who is client-focused, self-motivated, highly organized, and known for exceptional follow-through.

About the Role
  • Support clients in building and maintaining strong safety cultures.
  • Answer client questions regarding safety and environmental compliance.
  • Conduct safety audits using iAuditor software at assigned construction sites, identifying best practices and violations of state and/or federal OSHA regulations.
  • Customize and deliver safety programs and training modules tailored to each client’s needs.
  • Provide in-person safety training at client offices, job sites, or OECS’s state-of-the-art training center.
  • Attend client Safety Committee meetings to offer insight and guidance.
  • Offer onsite support during OSHA inspections.
  • Build rapport and trust with construction workers and leadership.
  • Represent clients at informal OSHA conferences.
  • Interpret construction plans and specifications effectively.
  • Participate in construction progress meetings.
  • Bring hands-on experience from mid-size to large commercial and residential job sites.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of OSHA 1926, MN Rules 5207, and ANSI/NFPA standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What a Typical Month Looks Like
  • Work from home, the office, and various construction sites.
  • Minimal overnight travel, typically 1–2 nights per month.
  • Exposure to various terrains including ladders, scaffolding, and MEWPs.
  • Assignments are generally within reasonable driving distance of your home.


About You
  • Multiple years of construction-related safety experience.
  • Certifications such as CHST, ASP, or CSP (BCSP).
  • Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer.
  • Strong background in Electrical Safety.
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety or equivalent construction safety experience (e.g., superintendent, safety coordinator, foreman, or project manager).
  • Solid understanding of OSHA construction standards.
  • Skilled in accident investigation and risk reduction.
  • Deep familiarity with the industrial construction industry.
  • Organized, adaptable, and collaborative.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Engaging trainer who can deliver compliance content in an impactful, memorable way.
  • Passionate about learning and skilled at teaching and coaching.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record, with comfort in driving to client sites.
